Ylana Maya - Day 4 "Petrifying"

Day 4
Imagine that your protagonist has just turned into a statue. Describe his or her thoughts.

Have you ever wondered how it would feel to be a statue? Maybe your first thoughts lead towards the horror of not being able to move or maybe you take a more comical stance at the thought of suffering an itchy arse and being hopeless to scratch it, pure torture... Absolutely petrifying.
A statue. A solid, inanimate, unchanging structure. Completely devoid of movement and feeling.
In the middle of the abandoned building stuck with its arms mid-wave in the air, like a crazed chimpanzee protecting a young-ling; was the Statue of Sana. Her feet were firmly glued and grounded on the rocky surface that she stood upon and her face was stuck with an expression conveying complete confusion, one brow furrowed the other slightly up from it’s usual place. Her mouth was open and curved down as if she had been mid-way saying, ‘What the f***!’ at the time that the stoney illness first began to take over.  When she felt her flesh and blood begin to solidify and turn to stone, this expression stayed with her, while the last of her lively nature was taken away, all of her animation remained only in this facial expression.
‘I am cold… My heart no longer beats, I am unable to look around and I am a statue.’
If Sana were to require the satisfaction of scratching her nose, she wouldn’t be able to… Can you imagine the pure displeasure of not being able to scratch your own nose!?
Like the end of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, she may have wondered if someone would dress her in burlesque clothing and un-petrify her so that she may take part in some homo-erotic, end-of-play dance around some swimming pool - stage.
There was no use trying to move… Her air flow was restricted… Her brain had ceased to work as a functioning organ and instead became a solid and lifeless structure just like the rest of her… so how could she think? How could she be capable of even considering the form of which she had solidified into?
If Sana tried to move… would she crumble or merely stay where she was; as still as the cold winter air, as lifeless as taxidermy?
No heart beat. No circadian rhythm. No blood rushing. No organs functioning. Just a lifeless stone body. Incapable of useful functionality.
Time… would cease to exist in this state.
Sana was a statue. How can I possibly tell you what she may think when she would likely cease to think and cease to exist as a living form.
How could I explain thoughts of which simply wouldn’t?
Maybe Sana will give us an account of her experience when somebody decides to turn her back into a functioning human?
Taken from:
Honestly I had a very hard time with this concept... Because as you may have gathered it seems impossible in my head that as a statue, you'd be capable of even thinking?
Maybe if I wrote on a different day, the creation would have been much different...
In any case,
thank you for taking the time to read!
See you soon for Day 5!
